Apply for this role What you'll do Implement product UI from design specs with attention to detail Build reusable components inside an established design system Fix frontend bugs, improve accessibility and performance Collaborate with designers and backend engineers daily Write component-level tests and storybook-style documentation Profile and improve render performance on real device-class budgets Required skills Strong JavaScript fundamentals and working React knowledge Comfort with TypeScript (or willingness to learn fast) CSS fluency — layout, responsive design, modern tooling Bonus: TanStack/React Query, testing, animation experience Preferred / bonus Exposure to TanStack Router / Start or Next.js Comfort reading network panels and Lighthouse reports Has shipped a production app with auth and persistent state Care for accessibility — keyboard, screen reader, color contrast Who should apply Anyone who has built and deployed at least one real React project and can talk honestly about what broke and what they'd do differently. Ideal candidate profile You can ship a pixel-precise screen and argue politely with the designer when needed You think in components and contracts, not pages and globals You instrument before you optimize You write code reviewers enjoy reading What you'll learn Design system thinking — tokens, primitives, composition over configuration Modern React patterns (Suspense, server functions, query caches) Frontend performance budgets and how to defend them Working alongside product designers and backend engineers in tight loops Tools & stack React 19 TypeScript TanStack Router/Start Tailwind v4 Vite Playwright Storybook Growth path Conversion path to Junior Software Developer (Frontend) — with ownership of product surfaces and direct design collaboration. Months 0–3 (Intern) Ship UI features in production. Own one surface end-to-end by week eight. Months 3–6 (Conversion) Lead a product surface with design-system contributions. Year 1 (Junior Frontend Developer) Own a product module's frontend; collaborate on architecture decisions. Years 2–3 Front-end lead on a Vestval product, influencing design-system direction.
